Toni Morrison

Toni Morrison’s work is considered an American treasure. She is a Novelist, editor, and Professor Emeritus at Princeton Univerity. She has won many, many awards to include the Pulitzer Prize, American Book Award, a Nobel Prize, and much more.

Her work has been used in college classrooms across the country, and her work is best known for its “epic themes,” dialogue, and incredibly detailed characters. her most notable book is Beloved.


Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou is an American author, poet, and civil rights activist. She has detailed her life as an African American women in many of her books, and her work has been used in schools across the country. She has been considered a role model both women and black people for her “defense of black culture.” She has won many awards, to include the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the National Medal of Arts.


Alice Walker

Alice Walker is an American author, poet, and activist. She has won many awards to include the National Book Award, a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and a Domestic Human Rights Award.
